Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is something that helps a person get back movement and function as best as possible, after they may of been affected by an injury, illness or disability.

The physiotherapists at Balance-Massage and Therapy treat each person individually, providing a hands on treatment meaning your treatment is personalised and unique to you, enabling you to get back on your feet and into everyday life again.

We treat –

Musculoskeletal- Musculoskeletal physiotherapy is work on the joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons in the body. Maybe after an injury or an operation the muscles and joints will become less mobile and tight. Physiotherapy and massage can address the problems and help restore movement in the joints, lengthen the muscles and the mobility of the nerves.

Sports Physiotherapy- Sports Physiotherapy is where any injuries which have occurred through a sport are treated and the sports player is rehabilitated so they can continue playing without any problems. This can help and happen in all level of sports competitions, and can help prevent reoccurring or future injuries.

Neurological- A Neurological Physiotherapist helps treats patients who have problems affecting the brain, spinal cord and nerves. Neurological problems may be weak muscles or very tight with spasms, but also altered sensations and problems with speech or swallowing.

Rheumatology- A rheumatology physiotherapist will help a patient to continue or start to achieve and maintain optimal function and independence. Different treatments will be provided on ways to help with pain relief, maintain/ increase joint movement and strength, encouragement with coping strategies and management.

Paediatric- A paediatric Physiotherapist works with children under 16, who may struggle with muscular, neurological and respiratory problems.

Cardio-respiratory- A Cardio- Respiratory physiotherapist assists patients with cardiovascular and respiratory problems ie: asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and many more.

Orthopaedics- An orthopaedic Physiotherapist assists with joint replacements, shoulder surgery, spinal conditions and joint instability.
