Myofascial Release
Myofascial Release is a safe hands on treatment which applies pressure and stretches the Myofascial Connective tissue to eliminate pain and restore/ Increase range of movement.
Fascia is a thin tissue that surrounds every muscle and organ in the body. When the muscle fibres get damaged, the fibres and fascia surrounding the muscle become tight and short. This can then affect other parts of the body which can be known as referred pain, as the other fibres and muscles in the body compensate for the injured area, making them work harder and making you more prone to injuries.
The therapist will be able to find the area of tightness through touch, a light stretch is then applied to the area, the therapist will then wait for the tissues to relax then will increase the stretch. The sore spots are called Myofascial Trigger Points
Myofascial Release can be used to treat and help:
